Explain the steps involve in construction of a discrete series

Construction of a discrete Frequency Distribution using Tally Marks :
The method of tally marks is used to count the number of observations of each value of the variable :
Steps ;
1) Prepare a table with three columns a) Variables b) Tally marks and c) Frequency
2) In the variables column, each possible value of variables is written
3) In the tally marks column , the tally mark denoted by | is noted for every obervation againt its corresponding value . After a particular value has occurred four times , we put a cross tally mark on the fifth occurrence , cutting the first four tally marks and this gives a block of five. for the sixth item we put another tally mark
4) In the frequency column , we put the total of tally marks corresponding to each value of the variable.

the discrete frequency distribution can be constructed int he following steps
1) In the 1st column , write the values of different marks ( 10 , 15, 20 and 25)
2) In 2nd column, tally marks are entered in the form of tally mark. these tally marks are grouped in the blocks of five
3) in 3rd column, the tally marks corresponding to the different values are counted and entered into the third column of frequency.
