explain the structure of nucleus

Structural components

Feature s

Nuclear membrane

  • The nucleus is enclosed by a double layered cellular membrane called the nuclear membrane.

Nucleoplasm

  • The nucleus contains a nuclear sap, enclosed by the nuclear envelope, which is known as the nucleoplasm. This holds the nucleoli and suspends the chromatins.

Nucleolus

  • The nucleolus is a sub-organelle present inside the nucleus. It can be observed as a dark spot under the microscope.

  • Nucleoli are made up of proteins, ribosomal RNA (rRNA), and ribosomal DNA (rDNA).

Chromatin network

  • DNA gets associated with protein molecules to form chromatins.

  • Chromatins are present in the nucleoplasm.

Structure: it contains 1 nuclear envelope ( gateway to the nucleus) 2 Chromosomes ( genetic containers) 3 nucleolus ( preassembly point for ribosomes)
Function:it directs the chemical reactions in cells by transcribing genetic information from DNA into RNA. nucleus also stores genetic information & transfers it during cell division from one cell to the next.it Controlss cell's genetic program & metabolic activities.

The nucleus is a membrane bound structure that contains the cell's hereditary information and controls the cell's growth and reproduction. It is commonly the most prominent organelle in thecell.

The nucleus is surrounded by a structure called the nuclear envelope. This membrane separates the contents of the nucleus from the cytoplasm. The cell's chromosomes are also housed within the nucleus. Chromosomes contain DNA which provides the genetic information necessary for the production of other cell components and for the reproduction of life.
