Somaclonal variations are the variations in the plants that develop during tissue culture.
It is expected that the somatic cells of the plant would not develop any variations, however variations occurs in the plants developed by tissue culture. This is referred to as Somaclonal variations.
Ans. (3) Somaclonal variations are caused by chromosomal aberrations.
This is because, any change in the chromosome structure (such as insertion, deletion, etc.)leads to variations.
