Living organisms like lichens, bryphytes and other living organisms release chemicals which helps in the break down of rocks. This helps to create very fine soil. Mosses helps rock to  break down even further. Becteria and fungi decompose dead remains of plants and animals. this provides texture to the soil. Earth's crust has importent nuetrients which helps the living beings to grow.
