fertilization is necessary even in a asexual reproduction. True /false?? And why??

Dear student, the above statement is false because asexual reproduction does not require fertilization because in asexual reproduction only one parent is involved and it does not require fusion of gametes. Moreover this fusion of gametes is known as fertilization which is absent in asexual reproduction. Thanks and regards.
