fill the blanks with appropriate words given below:

one of the many bad __ of commercials is their loudness.
They seem to be __ as loud as the programme and the viewer is almost __ when they come on.

1) features, feature
2) twice, pair
3) deafened, deaf

my query is :
as per the rule one of follows plural noun and singular verb therefore the first blank should be filled with feature but answer is given as features.
the third blank answer is deafened but what is the tense of "is + third form of verb" ?

One of the many bad features of commercials is their loudness.
They seem to be twice as loud as the programme and the viewer is almost deafened when they come on.

The plural form 'features' has been used as 'many'. 'Features' is a noun, not a verb in the given sentence.
'Deafened' is used as the perfect form of the verb 'deafen' is 'deafened'.

In first sentence , since commercial is in plural form i.e. commercials so thats why features has been used ,

& in third since "almost" has also been used so that's why third form of verb has been used
