Find a point on the x axis which is equidistant from A (2,-5) and B (-2,9)

let D (x. 0) is the point on the x-axis which is equidistant from A (2, - 5) and B (- 2, 9)

⇒ AD = BD

using the distance formula

x = -7

hence D (-7, 0) be the point on x-axis which is equidistant from A (2, -5) and B (-2, 9).

  using distance formula -

 root of (x-2)^2 +{0-(-5)} = root of  {x-(-2)} + (0-9)^2

 x^2 + 4 -4x + 25 = x^2 + 4 +4x+ 81            [ squaring booth the sides ]

     -8x = 56

       x = -7    answer
