find out the following in the electric circuit given in the figure.
a) effective resistance of two 8 ohm resistors in the combination
b) current flowing through 4ohm resistors
c) potential difference across 4ohmresistors
D) power dissipated in 4 ohm resistor
e) difference in ammeter readings if any.

(a) For the parallel combination of 8 ohm resistors,1Rp=18+18=28=14Or Rp=4 ohm(b) Total resistance in the circuit,R=4+RpR=4+4=8 ohmCurrent flowing through circuitI=VR=88=1 A(c) Potential difference across 4 ohm resistorV=IR=1×4=4 V(d) Power dissipated in 4 ohm resistorP=VI=4×1=4 W(e) There is no difference in the readings of ammeters A1 and A2 as same current flows through all elements in a series current.

a) 1 / Rp = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2
    1 / Rp= 1 / 8 + 1 / 8 = 1 / 4
    R = 4 ohms
b) V = 8 V
     R = 4 ohm
     I = V / R
     I = 8 / 4
     I = 2 Ampere
c) P.d. = ?
    I = 2 A
    R = 4 ohm
    V = R . I
    V = 4  x  2  = 8 V
d) P = V . I
    P = 4  x  2 = 8 Watts
e) Now both in series and parallel condition
   R = 4 ohms
   V = 8 Volt
  Reading of A1 Ammeter = V / R = 8 / 4 = 2 Ampere
  Reading of A2 Ammeter = V / R = 8 / 4 = 2 Ampere
 Difference in ammeter = 2 - 2 = 0
