Find the distance of the point (a,b,c) from x-axis?

The given point is (a, b, c).

The distance of the point (a, b, c) from x-axis will be the perpendicular distance from point (a, b, c) to x-axis whose co-ordinates will be (a, 0, 0)

[∵ on x-axis, y and z co-ordinates will be zero]

∴ By distance formula

  • 89

let the point on x-axis be (x,0,0)

so, distance= sqrt[(a-x)2 + b2 + c2 )]

  • -12

thanx, but the answer should be sqrt ( b2 + c2 )

  • 8
