mean = ( sum of  x  _i  f _i)   /    no. of observation

         mean is    350 / 5 =  70

I x  _i -  mean I =             35  ,        30  ,        20 ,         10  ,          55

f  _i    I  x  _i  -  mean  I  =   245  +  120  + 120  +  300  +  275   =  1060

mean deviation  =   (sum of  f  _i    I  x _i  -  mean   I )     /  n                      

                                   1060          /          5          =      2 12
