Find the projection of vector 2i-5j+k on xaxis, yaxis , zaxis ....

Let a=2i-5j+k     and    b=1i  (x-axis)
   Projection of vector a on vector b = a.b^ (a dot b cap)
      therefore 
        (2i-5j+k).(1i/ | i |)
      =(2i-5j+k).(1i)
      =2
Similarly for y-axis vector b=1j , answer will be -5.
And for z-axis vector b=1k , the answer will be 1.
