We have,9x+1-8y-1=1⇒9x-8y=1    
(1)3x+1+4y-1=2⇒3x+4y=2    
(2)Let 1x=u  and 1y=vThen, above equations became9u-8v=1    
(3)3u+4v=2   
(4)Multiply equation (4) by -3, we get-9u-12v=-6   
(5)Now add eq(3) and (5), we get-20v=-5v=14and u=1+8v9u=13So, x=3 and y=4
