Let his sons age be x and fathers age be 7x before 5 years ago

3(x+5)=7x+5

3x+15=7x+5

3x-7x=5-15

-4x=-10

x=-10/-4

    =2.5

Present age of his son=2.5+5

                                        =7.5

Present age of man=3(x+5)

                                  =3(7.5)

                                    =  22.5

Father's age present age is  7x-35 +5=7x-30 years

x=4

Father's age =3x+10

=3(4)+10

=12+10

=22

Therefore son's present age is 4 years and father's present age is 22 years
