for reversible reaction 2A(g) + B(g) to 4C(g) + heat at equilibrium what is the effect of adding He at a constant volume
Dear student,
Whenever an inert gas is added to a equilibrium mixture, there is no change in equilibrium conditions. This is because on addition of inert gas, the total pressure changes but mole fraction also changes, which keeps partial pressure of each reagent to be same, Also the concentration of each reagent remains same since there is no change in volume and moles of reagent as inert gas do not participate in the reaction.
Hope it helps
