We know that, for infinitely many solutions

a1/a2 = b1/b2 = c1/c2

Here, a1/a2 = k/4 ; b1/b2 = 4/k ; c1/c2 = -k-8/4

.`. k/4 = 4/k (to have infinitely many solution)

= k2 = 16

= k = +-4

according to the eqn, k = -4
