Radius of circle(r)=5cm
Therefore, sides of the square formed by the radii of the circles=10cm
Area of square=(side)2=102=100cm2
Area of 4 quadrants=4*1/4*pie*r2
=22/7*52
=22*25/7
=550/7
=78.57cm2
Area of shaded portion=Area of square-area of 4 quadrants
=100-78.57
=21.43cm2
