From a rectangular sheet of paper of 30 cm length and 600 cm 2 area, the biggest possible square is cut out. What is the area of the sheet of paper left?

Answer :

Given length of rectangular sheet  =  30 cm

And area of that sheet =  600  cm2

We know Area of Rectangle  =  Length  × Breadth

So, we get

30 × Breadth  =  600

Breadth  =  20  cm

SO we can cut maximum square AMND from rectangular sheet ABCD , As  :

SO Area of square  =  20 × 20  =  400  cm2

So ,

Area of sheet of paper left  =  600 -  400 =  200  cm2  ( Ans )
