From a rectangular sheet of paper of 30 cm length and 600 cm ² area, the biggest possible square is cut out. What is the area of the sheet of paper left?

Answer :

Given length of rectangular sheet  =  30 cm

And area of that sheet =  600  cm²

We know Area of Rectangle  =  Length  $\times$ Breadth 

So, we get

30 $\times$ Breadth  =  600

Breadth  =  20  cm

SO we can cut maximum square AMND from rectangular sheet ABCD , As  :



SO Area of square  =  20 $\times$ 20  =  400  cm²

So ,

Area of sheet of paper left  =  600 -  400 =  200  cm²  ( Ans )
