From the discussion of law making process can we think that parliament can devote enough time for thorough discussion of the bills? If not, then what remedies can you suggest to overcome this difficulty?

Dear Student,

a. One of the most important functions of the parliament is to make laws.
b. It is the supreme law making body and involves  a lot of procedures from the introduction of the bill till the final passage of the bill and assent of the President to become a law.
c. At times a lot of time is spent on discussing a particular bill, by both the houses causing prolonged delays .
d. We have also witnessed that discussion on bills have led to walk outs, protests within the Parliament finally leading to adjournment of the house. This certainly has put pressure on the country's exchequer.
e, Many important bills at times are sidelined because of lack of political consensus and deadlocks among the political parties.
f. However, at times due to political majority and consensus , many bills are passed with fruitful discussion and without much delays.
g. It is important that no bill must be passed in haste and that all bills must go through proper deliberation and discussion, however in order to avoid delay it is also important that stipulated time must be framed.
h.Political parties must try to reach an agreement outside the Parliament forum and at times must also seek opinion of the people at large by making use of social media on any bill.
i. This will certainly mitigate the chances of deadlock and will ensure quick agreement.
