G.andhi felt that Indians should not seek a prop in Mr. Andrews, the
Englishman. Who was Arndrews and why did G.andhi say this ?
Charles Freer Andrews was the English pacifist and he became a devoted follower of Gandhi. According to Gandhi Indians should not take any help from a Englishman . He said that because if they got an Englishman on their side it would show the weakness of their heart.
Gandhiji was opposed to C.F. Andrews helping him in Champaran because he wanted the Indians to be self- dependent and self-reliant in their struggle against injustice, He told him that Indians were strong enough to fight their own battle and had the capability to win it. Therefore, Gandhiji refused his help.
