Give a sketch of Chandragupta Maurya..

1. Chandragupta Maurya was one of the greatest leaders. He dethroned Dhanananda, the last Nanda emperor to establish the foundation of the Mauryan Dynasty.
2. He asked for advice and suggestions of Chanakya to do so. A treaty was signed in 303 B.C, according to which Chandragupta acquired the trans-Indus region.
3. Durdhara was the first wife of Chandragupta Maurya and mother of Bindusara. After the death of Durdhara, Chandragupta Maurya married Helena who was a Greek and Seleucus Nicator's daughter. Seleucus Nicator was defeated by Chandragupta in the war.
4. He was ambitious and did everything in appropriate manner in order to become a ruler and he followed Jainism towards the end of his life,
