give an analysis of houhynhnms and their culture? do you think that swift meant the country of the houhynhnms represented an ideal society?

The Houyhnhnms are a race of intelligent horses. They have a stable, calm, reliable and rational society, which is based purely on reason. They have no religion and their sole morality is the defence of reason, and therefore they are not particularly moved by pity or a belief in the value of life. Examples of the Houyhnhnms' lack of passion surface mainly during their annual meeting. A visitor apologises for being late to the meeting as her husband had died shortly before and she had to make the proper funeral arrangements, which consists of burial at sea. She is not affected by her loss like a human would be.
Swift has made the comparison to the human society and implies how an ideal society should be.
