Give appropriate reasons for the following
1.metal fluoride are more ionic than metal fluoride
2.Perchloric acid stronger than sulphuric acid
3.Addission of chloride to KI solution gives it brown colour but excsess of it gives colourless
Dear student,
1. The question is incorrect.
2. The conjugate base of perchloric acid is more stable than sulfuric acid and hence it is less stable. The stability is due to presence of more conjugation in conjugate base of perchloric acid.
3. Cl2 oxidises I- to I2 which is brown in colour but excess of it will release HIO3 which is colourless. So it turns colorless ultimately.
