Dear Student

Syndrome refers to the collection of symptoms and signs of disease. AIDS (Acquired Immuno deficiency Syndrome) is referred to as a syndrome because it is characterized by a set of diseases and not a disorder of a single organ or system. A person suffering from AIDS can get infected from various other diseases like Tuberculosis. So, AIDS is not a single disease,  it is a collection of diseases and symptoms.
