Give reasons for the following-: a) Overcrowded areas are a contributory cause for tuberculosis. b) We should prevent diseases rather than treating them. c) A majority of children in India are immune to a lot of infectious diseases.

Dear student.

a.  In overcrowded areas, there are greater chances of a person infected with the disease spreading the infectious droplets through breathing or sneezing. So there are chances of a healthy person inhaling that.

b.  There are many diseases that cannot be cured. No medicines are there yet to treat them like AIDS or cancer. So it is better not to get the disease rather than treating it. If we can prevent the disease to occur then no medicines are required. Moreover, the medicines have several side effects that may destroy some other system while curing a disease. Thus it is better to prevent the disease to occur than to cure it by applying medicines. Hence prevention is better than treatment.
