Rubber suckers have good grip and are used to install hooks in the kitchen.

Dear Student, When a rubber sucker is pressed onto a surface, the air inside is expelled and due to it's shape it tries to suck in the air back. But, as the surface is airtight, the air outside cannot get inside and a vaccum is developed. The air outside is at a higher pressure and pushes the sucker back on the smooth surface due to which it sticks that is the reason rubber suckers have good grip and are used to install hooks in kitchen.
