Parathyroid hormone also known as parathormone acts as a counterpart to the actions of thyroid hormone calcitonin. Calcitonin reduces the blood calcium level by the deposition of calcium on bonesand also decrease of reabsorption in the renal tubules whereas parathormone increases the blood calcium level by reabsorption Ca from bones as well as increasing the reabsorption in the renal tubules
