Give the reason that aluminum is highly electropositive yet it is used as a structural metal.

Dear Student,

Aluminium is highly electropositive element yet it is used as a structural metal. This is because aluminium forms a hard protective layer of aluminium oxide over it when it is exposed to air and moisture. This layer doesnot permit further reaction and so aluminium doesnot corrode and can be safely used as a structural metal.
