give the summary of the browning version

The play 'Browning Version' has three characters: Taplow, a student, Frank, the science teacher at the school and Millie Crocker-Harris, the wife of the classics teacher. A fourth character, Crocker-Harris, is all but present, because the entire conversation centres on him. Frank finds Taplow waiting for Crocker-Harris after school, to do extra work for him. The latter is already late when the play begins. Questioning Taplow, Frank finds out more about him and his opinions about Crocker-Harris. Taplow does not know whether he would be specialising in science, because unlike other teachers, Crocker-Harris does not break convention and lets his students know the results of examinations. He is really interested in science and is not a slacker like the students who, Frank complains, end up opting for science. The conversation turns to the subject of Crocker-Harris's personality. Taplow is quite brilliant in his understanding of the way in which Crocker-Harris functions. He can do a realistic imitation of his gentle throaty voice and his rather overbearing mannerism. He can also predict the way in which Crocker-Harris would behave in a particular situation.   He can also deftly analyse Crocker-Harris's character traits and the motivations behind his actions. With an insight quite unexpected from a young boy, he explains to Frank that although Crocker-Harris is stern and severe, he is not a sadist like some of his colleagues. He does not derive pleasure from torturing his students. Instead, he is "shrivelled up inside like a nut" which makes him less frightening and more an object of pity for Taplow. The conversation ends abruptly with the entry of Millie. She makes Taplow run an errand to the chemist's, assuring him that she'll take the blame for him if Crocker-Harris himself turns up and finds him absent.
