Given a cuboid of dimensions l = 6cm , b = 5cm , h = 4cm . How many cubes, each of side 2cm can be cut out from it ?

IS IT 15 CUBES ? PLZ ANS SOON :)

Dear Student!

Given, the length, breadth and height of the cuboid are 6cm, 5cm and 4cm respectively. The edge (side) of the cube is 2 cm.

Volume of cuboid = l × b × h = 6 × 5 × 4 cm3 = 120 cm3

Volume of cube of side =

∴ Number of cubes =

Thus, 15 cubes can be cut from the  given cuboid.

Cheers!

pls tell me how can we ever take width as 4 when it is given as 5 cm ? because :

6 x 5 x 4 / 2 x 2 x 2 = 15 when we cancel 6 and 2 ,we get 3 and when we cancel 4 and 2 , we get 2  and we cancel 2 with 2 we get 1 . then , when we multiply 3 x 5 we get , 15 .

pls clear my doubt .
