Given that the equilibrium constant for the reaction
2SO2 + O2 ------> 2SO3
has a value of 278 at a particular temperature. What is the value of the equilibrium constant for the reaction at the same temperature
SO3 -----> SO2+ ½O2

2SO2 + O2  <=> 2SO3 ---------Kc=278

SO3  <=> SO 2  + 1/2O2 ----------Kc'=(1/Kc)1/2

Kc'=(1/278)1/2  = 0.0599 = 5.9 x 10-2 =6x10-2

Shabnam this is answer to your doubt. Kp = Kc [RT]^n.........(i) Here n is delta n that means change in no of moles. It is 1 as per your question. R=8.314. Solve it.
