Had I as many eyes as thou hast wounds, Weeping as fast as they stream forth thy blood, It would become me better than to close In terms of friendship with thine enemies.

Dear student,

Antony speaks out these words in the presence of Caesar's dead body. he laments the fact that he has to shake the hands of the conspirators and this action may express that he is in allegiance with them which is not true. he knows that a better thing would be if he had as many eyes as there were wounds on Caesar's body from the stabbing: then each eyes could shed tears for the unfair and brutal manner in which Caesar had been betrayed and hacked to death! he wished that tears could flow out his eyes just as blood streamed from Caesar's wounds.

Regards
