The moon is white in color ,

because when the moon is going into darkness, we can only see the light that is directly reflected from the sun,

HOWEVER, the moon is not always white. Sometimes we are blessed to get an amber vision and in some rare cases, red , yellow or blue cast.

The moon is white when it is closer to a direct reflection,
Yellow when the sun is furthest away (think harvest time).
Orange when its mid distance.
Blue cast between mid and closest to us.
