Hello expert please help me with this question:-
Explain active transport and passive transport in a form of differential table.
Pls answer asap,...................
Dear Student,
The differences between active and passive transport are:
Active transport | Passive transport |
It is the movement of molecules against the concentration gradient, i.e., from a region of lower concentration to a region of higher concentration. | It is the movement of molecules along the concentration gradient, i.e., from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. |
Energy is required in the process. ATP are consumed. | Energy is not required in passive transport. |
Example: Movement of ions like Na+ and H+ across the cell membrane occurs by active transport. | Example: Movement of gases (like oxygen), water across the cell membrane occurs through passive transport. |
