One degree hydrogen is that hydrogen that is attached with primary carbon and two-degree hydrogen is that hydrogen that is attached with secondary carbon. The reaction that is shown is not the displacement reaction, the above reaction is based on the free radical mechanism, where the secondary free radical is more stable than the primary free radical, and due to this secondary halide is the major product.
