Meristematic tissue are the tissues which helps in division of the cells.These are the immature tissues and helps in the growth of the plants. These are of two types.They are:
1.Apical meristematic tissue/Apical meristem: It is present at the tips of the cells like roots,stems.These helps in the growth of the tips.
2.Intercalary meristem/Intercalary meristematic tissue :It is present at the internodes or base of leaves.It helps in the increase of length of internodes.
3.Lateral meristematic tissue/Lateral meristem:
These are present at the lateral sides of the plants.These helps in thickening of plant.
