"homework" is a compound noun.
but is it a one word compound noun or a two word compound noun.
"homework" or "home work"

Dear Student

Compound nouns are the ones where two words join together and they have their own individual meaning. In the word 'homework' two words are added together i.e. home+work. It is a 'closed compound noun' as it does not has space in between. There is no such thing like one or two word compound noun. The other two types are:-
  • Open- where space is there in between. For eg.- water tank
  • Hyphenated- where the words are connected using a hyphen. For eg.- dry-cleaning.
