How Abscissic Acid acts as an antagonist to Gibberelic acids?
Pls write the answers in steps

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

Abscisic acid (ABA) acts as an antagonist to gibberellic acid(GA)  in the following ways:
  • ABA inhibits the growth of plants while GA promotes it.
  • ABA causes seeds, buds, tubers, etc. to go into a dormant stage. GA helps the plant to overcome seed dormancy.
  • ABA inhibits RNA and protein synthesis while GA promotes their synthesis.
  • ABA promotes the abscission of flowers, leaf senescence, and closure of stomata. GA promotes fruit development, prevents leaf senescence, and promotes the opening of stomata.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
