How are tropical forests better than temperate forests for species diversification when 40% of tropical forests have already been deforested and only 1% of temperate have been deforested?

Dear student,

Tropical forest
  • The tropical rainforests has equatorial climate and experiences heavy rainfall, high temperature throughout the year.
  • The trees here grow very close to each other. They grow around near the Equator belt.
  • Thy are largely found in amazon basin, These trees are rich repository of natural medicines., Important plants found are teak.rosewood. Animals found are Black Bear, Baboon. Lion.
Temperate forest
  • Temperate forests are found between tropical and subtropical regions, found in northern and souther hemisphere.
  • These forests are characterised by high level of precipitation, humidity.
  • These forests receive annual rainfall of 40 to 150 inches, There are temperate rainforest , temperate coniferous forest . Some of the trees found are  oak, ash, maple, birch, beech, poplar, elm and pine. Animals found are giant red panda, mountain lions, deer.
Regards.

Diversity depends on some biotic and some abiotic factors.(rainfall and temperature are main influencing factors.
In Tropical rain forests there is high temperature and high rainfall and these are the conditions which favours good diversity.Whereas in temperate forests the temperature is high but rainfall is less than tropical forests. So,the diversification in tropical rain forest is high than that of temperate forests.

the diversification has taken place long long long ...... ago
it is just a way of explanation for greater diversification in tropics than in temperate region.
even now diversification is taking place but the rate is very slow because we HUMANS are making species extinct even before they get to evolve.
