How can we convert phenol to anisole?

phenol + naoh = ONa-benzene + ch3I = anisole

PHENOL + SODIUMHYDROXIDE --> SODIUM PHENEOXIDE + IODOMETHANE --> ANISOLE

wher from iodine came as above product -----iodomethane . I don't  understand?

Diazomethane can be used for homologation. As we know Anisole is a homologue of Phenol.

Phenol + CH2N2  --->  Anisole + N2
