how can we know the mechanism of a reaction?

Hi,

Reaction Mechanism :

Reaction mechanism in chemistry means the intermediate steps of a reaction. They show each step of the reaction from the beginning to the end, how the intermediate carbocations or radicals or ions are formed. They also show the solvents had formed intermediate products to help carry the reaction forward. So, they also show how new bonds are  formed and which old ones were broken, charge transferred and so on. All these details are not written when we only write the end products of the reaction.

Mechanism of a reaction depends upon the reactant , product and type of reaction taking place and also influenced by reagent used during the reaction.
