How can you say that microglial cells resemble the monocytes?

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

Microglial cells are macrophages located in brain and spinal cord. They act as the first and main form of active immune defence in the central nervous system.
Monocyte are the largest type of  white blood cells which helps us in fighting bacteria and viruses. They help us fight against pathogens by engulfing them after which they get differentiated to become macrophages.

Both microglial cells and monocytes provide defense to the body and have the same origin-macrophage. Hence, we can say that they resemble each other.
