How can you say that the freedom of Amanda is curtailed?
Answer it detail....

Dear student,

Here is the answer:

The poem Amanda is about a young girl who is constantly being nagged by her mother. In the poem Amanda's freedom is curtailed. This is because she is continuously told what she needs to do and what she shouldn't do. She wants a life free from restrictions. She wants to do what she wants  but as she is being nagged continuously. She wants to live in a peaceful quiet place. In the poem, Amanda is an imaginative girl. She wants to live in the sea like a mermaid. She also wishes to be like an orphan child who roams freely in the streets. She also imagines herself to be Rapunzel who stays in high up in a tower without a care.
