  5. Thus in order to meet the recurring expenses, the state was obliged to increase taxes.
  6. The French society was divided into three estates and only the third estate members were required to pay taxes.

AMERICA AND FRANCE HAD A COMMON ENEMY , BRITAIN. FRANCE WANTED TO SHOW DOWN BRITAIN SO FRANCE PROVIDED TROOPS TO AMERICA TO HELP THEM IN THE REVOLUTION. FRANCE WAS ALREADY IN A STATE OF CRISIS, ITS TREASURE WAS ALREADY EMPTY. IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE AMERICA , THEY HAD TO TAKE LOANS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES, THEREFORE LEADING TO DEBTS.
