How did the young seagull turn from a coward girl into a confident flager

The little bird was extremely afraid to fly at the beginning. Gradually he started growing hungry and waited for his mother to feed him fish. When his mother flew just opposite to him with a fish in his beak, he couldn't resist. Hunger acted as a driving force to make him fly. When the little bird stepped forward to grab the fish, he started falling. After a few seconds of terror, he started flapping his wings and flied happily. Thus the young seagull turned from a coward to a confident flyer.
