How do enzyme bring about such high rates of conversions? Explain for about five marks .
Quite urgent...

Enzymes contain pocket-like structure known as active site, into which the substrate molecule fits. The substrate molecule forms weak bonds with the active site of the enzyme and catalyses the reaction. The substrate ‘S’ bind to the enzyme at its ‘active site’ within a given cleft or pocket. E stands for enzyme.  When substrate binds to enzyme, it forms enzyme- substrate complex (ES). This complex formation is a transient phenomenon. When the process of bond breaking or making is completed, the product will be released from the active site. After this, new substrate molecule will bound to active site to form product.
