How do metalloids satisfy the octet rule if they have 4 electrons in their valence shell ?

Dear student, The octet rule for metalloids will react to get eight electrons in their outermost shell. The Metalloid achieve their octet by donating their valence electrons to nonmetals. This exposes their octet of valence electrons in the next lower level. Regards,
