1) Forests are renewable resources and play a major role in enhancing the quality of environment.
2) They modify local climate, control soil erosion, regulate stream flow, support a variety of industries, provide livelihood for many communities and offer scenic view for recreation.
3) It controls wind force and temperature and causes rainfall.
4) It provides humus to the soil and shelter to the wild life.

PRODUCTIVE ROLE:-

1. They produce us with many resources such as wood, medicibnal herbs,food,fodder etc. for the livelihood of people...

2. They give a beautiful scenary landscape for a releif in peace of mind and to attract many tourists.

PROTECTIVE ROLE:-They maintain a good balance of gases in the air as they take a huge amount of carbon dioxide and release a good amount of oxygen. This is very much required presently as the pollution is increasing.
