How do we distinguish between cities and towns ? Give answer with respect to the chapter work life and leisure of history (as experts are giving answer with respect to India)

a. ​Cites are larger in size and also in terms of population, further they are the hub and centre of political power. They also have vast administration network and is charactersied by industries and trade. They are the centre of all political and economic activities. Example , Bombay, Calcutta as mentioned in the chapter.
b. Towns on the other hand are smaller in size as compared with cities, but are bigger than villages. Towns may have small administrative structure and small network of trade.
