How does a lift pump works? Please explain with diagrams.

A lift pump is actually an airlift pump which uses compressed air to lift water from underground. Air from the compressor is blown at the lower end of the pipe that transports the water. The air bubbles rises quickly above water due to buoyancy. Due to fluid pressure the water also moves along with the air bubbles and thus reaches the upper end of the transport-pipe.

As the handle is pulled the pressure opens the 2nd valve and closes the 1st valve and as u push the 2nd valve closes and the 1st opens to puss the water out the nossil. This is how a lift pump works.

Hope it helps u. THUMBS UP PLEASE.
