Chlamydospores are the resting spores produced by some fungi like Ascomycota during unfavourable conditions. These are usually protected by thick walls and are oval or spherical in shape. These spore cells are produced on elongated suspensor cells situated on pseudohyphae or hyphae of fungi asexually (without fusion of gametes). When the favourable conditions like warm climate, presence of mositure etc arrive, they grow into new individual. Thus help in asexual reprodution in fungi. They spread through irrigation water, rains splash, wind etc.
